SLS Elimination
Well, after talking to a bunch of people who have a lot of experience with the e34 M5 suspension, I am thinking that it may make more sense to repair the SLS that is on the car. Most people have said that elimination of the SLS and replacing it with one of the limited number of suspension setups on the market today will result in a much harsher ride than stock. Now, my car's rear suspension has probably been messed up for a while and I have probably forgotten what that ride is like, but anything harsher than what I have now could break some fillings loose. Apparently the Bilstein shocks and strtuts are far too stiff for the e34 and the internal bump stops should be replaced by Bilstein with a setup more suitable for the e34 cars. It is possible to use an adjustable shock/strut like the Konis, but it doesn't seem like anyone I have spoken with is a fan of this either. So, I am kind of at a loss here for what to do. I need to give Spencer a call and talk about what I have learned and what our options are.
